The STEP2 lecture on university governance and DEI for the 7th term trainees of SENTAN-Q was conducted as follows.

Lecturer: Honorary Chair Professor Eunkyoung Kim, Yonsei University

This program was organized as part of SENTAN-Q to provide participants with practical knowledge on university governance, the promotion of DEI, and career development for researchers, with the aim of fostering future leaders who will contribute to university management and organizational administration.

We welcomed Honorary Chair Professor Eunkyoung Kim, former Provost of Yonsei University, to deliver an in-person lecture followed by a Q&A session.

During the lecture, drawing on her experience in university management and the promotion of DEI, she shared practical perspectives on leadership in higher education and on building organizations where diverse members can thrive. She also emphasized the importance of governance and institutional frameworks for the sustainable advancement of DEI, illustrating her points with concrete examples.

In the Q&A session, participants engaged in active discussions on embedding DEI as an integral part of organizational culture rather than a temporary initiative, aligning governance with sustainable practices, and practical approaches to laboratory and research group management.

The lecture provided a valuable opportunity for participants to broaden their perspectives on university administration and to reflect on their own career development and future roles within the organization.
