本学にて実施しております「SENTAN-Qプロジェクト」の、海外講師によるDEIに関する公開講座を開催いたします。

Diversity, Inclusion and Innovation:

Unleashing and empowering our creative workforce

Dr. Sean C Garrick, Vice Chancellor for DEI of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), will share how the diversity can lead to innovation and creativity for solving technology and business problems. He also sheds light on what has been termed as the diversity–innovation paradox: a pattern in which women and underrepresented scientists and engineers produce more novel contributions but are less recognized for their contributions. From the research lab and across UIUC, Dr. Garrick will highlight the connections between diversity & inclusion and creativity & innovation.

組織における創造性とダイバーシティの関係について、研究やビジネスの世界でも長く論じられてきました。今回は、イリノイ大学アーバナ・シャンペーン校のSean C. Garrick副学長（DEI担当）をお招きし、組織におけるダイバーシティの重要性や、ダイバーシティ・パラドックス* について、ご講演いただきます。

*人種や性別を理由に過小評価されているグループのメンバーが、組織の問題解決に大きく貢献しているにもかかわらず、正当に評価されていないこと

講師略歴：
Dr. Sean C. Garrick has been selected the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 2019. He has provided vision and advice on diversity and social justice issues across UIUC. Since 2021, Dr. Garrick has been one of the overseas lecturer for SENTAN-Q program.

2019年にイリノイ大学アーバナ・シャンペーン校副学長（DEI担当）に就任。同校におけるダイバーシティ、エクイティ・インクルージョンの促進に取り組む。2021年より、SENTAN-Q海外研修講師としてダイバーシティに関する講義を担当。
